The name evolved to Time Equipment of Miami

which became TEM Systems, Inc.

TEM Systems, LLC is an affiliate of TEM Systems, Inc, which was established in 1957 by Richard "Dick" Roether. As a pioneer of automated gate systems in the State of Florida, TEM Systems, Inc is considered to be an expert in this field. As Richard Roether and his team at TEM Systems, Inc. anticipated other methods of controlling access and active surveillance systems that could be integrated with the gate security systems, TEM Systems, Inc. continually evolved into a complete systems integrator.

Richard Roether's son, Scott Roether, launched TEM Systems, LLC in 2008 based on the same principles and values that was the foundation TEM Systms, Inc. A reputation built on service is a TEM tradition that has endured over 50 years in Florida and continues to be the foundation of TEM in North Carolina and South Carolina.

The company operates a fleets of fully-equipped security service vehicles in the Carolinas. The branch office locations are strategically placed to help reduce response times to customers in its choice markets (the Western Carolinas and South Carolina coastline). Our technicians are factory trained and certified. Our visitor management software support team can dial into customer locations to provide remote, real-time support. Our hardware and software support agreements are tailored to meet specific customer needs.

Motivated by providing our customers with the most advanced security integration solutions to meet their needs, we continue to be on the forefront of new technologies and best practices. Our solutions range in size and scope from simple, stand-alone alarm systems to fully integrated, networkable security platforms.

TEM History

Our Team

First Generation

Dick Roether | Founder

Richard "Dick" Roether (aka - Grandpa) purchased a small time clock business in 1957 after moving his family of seven down to South Florida from Cincinnati, OH. A veteran of the Air Force, Grandpa served his country proudly in World War II. He continued living the values and utilizing the tools he developed in the Air Force to successfully build the foundation of a long-term business. His generosity and friendly spirit extended outside the office to local not-for-profit organizations and Nativity Catholic Church. His legacy continues through each team member that works at TEM Systems today and is proud that TEM Systems is now a 3rd Generation organization.

Second Generation

Scott Roether | President

Following his entrepreneurial spirit, Scott moved to North Carolina in 2008 to start up affiliate offices of the Florida based company. Though he is a self-described introvert, Scott immediately started building relationships throughout the Carolinas. As the President of TEM Systems, LLC, Scott is responsible for all aspects of the operations in each office located in Morganton, NC and Murrells Inlet, SC. Scott graduated from Florida Atlantic University with Management Degree and work with some reputable companies prior to joining TEM in 1988. Scott has been the force behind TEM's successful GateHouse® Visitor and Resident Management software, working closely with the development team and providing solutions to our customers nationwide.
